Jobs for Life is an 8 week program that provides job training experience, mentorship and life skills coaching to participants throughout the Southwest Michigan community. Topics covered in class sessions include career planning, resume building, mock interviewing, presentation and communication skills, and employer perspectives. Those who participate in Jobs for Life are typically placed within one of Mosaic’s social enterprises to gain hands-on work experience and are also given a mentor to coach them throughout the program. Since our Jobs for Life program was initiated, we’ve been blessed to place dozens of graduates into sustainable employment throughout the community.

Our next program session starts in just a few weeks! If you know of anyone who might be interested in applying for the Jobs for Life program, please have them stop into the Mosaic Resale Store at 510 W. Main Street in Benton Harbor to complete an application. The deadline to apply is January 15. For more information or if you have further questions, please contact Princella Stringer, Jobs for Life Director at 269-925-9925.

MENTORS ALSO NEEDED!

Mentors and volunteers are also needed for 2016 Jobs for Life program sessions! Typically, mentors are paired with a Jobs for Life program participant and provided with training resources for a period of 6-12 months to provide support, guidance, assistance and a sense of community as their mentee completes the course and overcomes employment barriers. Mentors are one of the reasons why our Jobs for Life program is so successful and we’re always looking for those willing to help our community by building bridges through relationships that might otherwise not have existed.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Jobs for Life mentor, please contact Princella Stringer, Jobs for Life Director, pstringer@mosaicccda.com for detailed volunteer documents. To download your copy of our volunteer application, CLICK HERE.
